I was contacted by Nirmali Fenn (Australian composer and Professor of Music at New York University) to develop a simple website that captured the essence of movement and life that was the heart of her music.
I decided to use a scrolling background that carried a flow of colours and patterns upon which sat her biography and compositions. This was created entirely with standard web code (without Flash) and was completely responsive. It would take 5 years before this technique became mainstream. The colours change depending on the time of day you visit (in relation to the users region), varying from deep blues at night through to rich ambers, reds and greens throughout the day.
The brief also specified multiple languages must be selectable, so I incorporated a small flag array in the upper right which, when clicked, translates the website into the respective languages.
